Ben Dowswell

Ben Dowswell, PhD

Accredited Exercise Physiologist | Accredited Exercise Scientist

Ben brings a highly practical, knowledgeable, and thoughtful approach to Exercise Physiology, grounded in a strong understanding of human movement, health, and adaptation to exercise. He takes the time to understand each person's situation — not just their diagnosis — and designs exercise programs that are safe, achievable, and directly relevant to individual needs.

With a strong background in health science, resistance training, and neuromuscular physiology, Ben has a deep understanding of how the body adapts to exercise across a wide range of conditions. This allows him to confidently work with complex presentations, long-term conditions, neurological challenges, and individuals who require a higher level of clinical oversight. His strength lies in problem-solving, adapting exercise in real time, and knowing when to progress, when to modify, and when to pull things back.

Ben spent over 15 years in university education and health research, gaining extensive experience in exercise prescription, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation, nutrition, and health education across diverse populations. This background underpins a clinical style that is both highly informed and deeply patient-centred. Whether someone is rebuilding after injury or surgery, managing a complex condition, or working toward higher performance, Ben's focus is always on building confidence, resilience, and long-term exercise independence.

Scott Hill

Senior Physiotherapist | Director — Power Elite Physiotherapy

Scott brings a practical, clear, and highly skilled approach to physiotherapy, with a strong focus on biomechanics, movement quality, and strength-based rehabilitation. He is experienced in assessing and managing a wide range of injuries and physical conditions, particularly where a return to higher-level function, work, or training is a key goal.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Scott is a nationally competitive powerlifter with extensive experience training and performing at an elite level. This firsthand understanding of strength training, load management, and performance under fatigue allows him to bridge the gap between injury management and high-level physical performance. Scott also works closely with professional and semi-professional local athletes and sports teams, supporting rehabilitation, return-to-play decision making, and long-term physical development.

Scott has a strong hands-on treatment approach and regularly incorporates Direct Current Therapy alongside manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation to support pain reduction, neuromuscular re-education, and tissue recovery. He collaborates closely with the Exercise Physiology team to ensure rehabilitation and exercise programs are well integrated, progressive, and aligned with each individual's goals.
